The first Monastery (Gelug) of the Settlement was built by Dhakpo Rinpoche at Camp 1, After that a second monastery (Kagyue) came up by the grace of Khentse Ripoche at Camp 2. Following that, after a real long time, came the third monastery (Nyingma), which is now the biggest of them (compared to the structure of the monastery building), at camp 3 in 1995 by His Eminence Penor Rinpoche.

There are few other small monasteries in the Settlement such as Nyingma-Nyingma-Choetsok and a monastery at camp 6. In the year 2000, another monastery (Kagyue) had started its construction at Gyalton Karying camp 3.

Camp 1- Dhakpo monastery better known as the Tibetan monastery is the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in the state of Chhattisgarh. It is Constructed around 1965-66.

Mainpat is home to a lot of Tibetans who have taken refuge in India and now lead their life and follow their culture in this region. Owing to that fact, Mainpat is full of Buddhists, and this is the most famous monasteries here Dhakpo Shedupling Monastery.

It is a Gelung Monastery and is quite different in shape, structure, and grandness from the other monasteries in other parts of the country. This is the only Buddhist monastery in Chhattisgarh and is a beautiful one. One can find that it is different from other monasteries; the place is not very crowded, and you can feel a sense of tranquility. The chanting and the prayers of the monks can be heard in a low voice here and occasionally the Tibetan bell, giving visitors a surreal environment.

It is an exciting place where the ground starts to shake due to bouncing on the ground, known as Jaljali or marshy. As soon as you step into the area of Jaljali river, the earth sinks and rises back like a ball. The ground is such that it shakes like a sponge when people jump. One can have various variations of this name, such as Dal Dala, Jal Jala, Jal Jali, Zal Zala, Zal Zali, etc. The name seems to keep changing depending on who you ask. Jaljali river is visible just a few km away from the beautiful Saila resort of Chhattisgarh Tourism.

Is Jaljali/Daldali dangerous?

The answer is a simple yes. Most ground sections have a top hard layer, but there are sections with a very soft top layer. If your leg happens to fall in these sections by chance, it will sink in like quicksand. Avoid areas that look wet and dark and wet, and these sections have a porous top layer, so it’s best to avoid these spots. The locals also warn you not to venture deep into the open field as further down, there are more extensive patches of this soft ground. Thus stay on the outer edges and do not venture out on your own deep into this place. Be careful when clicking photographs and selfies.

Ultapani is one of the fascinating places in Mainpat. It is a place where the flow of water is towards the height. People come from far and wide to see this and keep their views on the water upside down.

This site is located in Visarpani village of Mainpat area. This place has become very popular among people in the last few years. On visiting this place, it appears that the flow of water is towards the height.

For many years, the local people considered this place to be a ghostly place, but with the increase in the number of tourists day by day, people's views have changed, but the water flow is towards the height is not yet known. Many researchers came to this place, but everyone has different opinions. Many people believe that this is just an optical illusion, but some people say that the force of gravity is more here.

The location of Ulta Pani is such that it is sandwiched naturally between two hills. Thus, there is a constant strong wind blowing uphill. This strong wind gives additional momentum to the water when it is hitting its surface, thus maintaining the siphon action.
