Chhattisgarh State contains the district of Bastar. Jagdalpur serves as the administrative centre for the Bastar district and division. Dakshin Kaushal was its original name. It is referred to as the cultural capital of the state because of its gorgeous forests and tribal culture. It is abundant in natural beauty, tribal communities, and natural resources.A significant hub for culture and handicrafts is Jagdalpur. The Anthropological Museum at Dharampura has tribal people of Bastar's historical and recreational objects on exhibit. The people of the Bastar district are blessed with intrinsic beauty, a liberal culture, and rare works of art. The Bastar district is home to numerous wild animals, tall hills, and lush forests.
Dantewada gets its name from the district's capital, which is called after the town's patron deity, Ma Danteshwari. This region is noted for having the oldest inhabitants in all of India who uphold their own culture, lifestyle, virtues, dancing, music, folklore, merriment, and innocent grin. Shakti manifests as Ma Danteshwari, the most revered and worshipped deity in the Bastar area. One of the 52 sacred Shakti pithas of Hindu mythology is believed to be Dantewada. For lovers of nature, Dantewada is a heaven. District Dantewada contains a variety of ancient and historically significant temples and buildings in addition to the Goddess Danteshwari Temple. While the "Memory Pillars" that can be seen across the area are helpful in understanding the rich history and tradition of the local tribes, the sculptures of "Barsur" allow one to glimpse into the illustrious past of this region.
